KPRC Houston Newsmakers Spotlights Atlas Scholars

HOUSTON – November 21, 2021 – Khambrel Marshall, host of KPRC’s Houston Newsmakers, invited Atlas Scholars co-founder, Craig Taylor, and current second-year Scholar, Zion Duplechain, to talk about the program and how it impacts students. They gave great insight on the organizations overall mission as well as what to expect as an Atlas Scholar. Craig explains, “Ultimately, we want to continue to bring awareness about the gaps that we think exist between what kids are getting in their public education system and the difference between that and the professional environment and being prepared for what’s going to happen when they move on to college”. Zion talks about what Atlas Scholars has taught him, emphasizing that accountability is key and learning to improve is one of the main things he’s learned.
